Everything You Need to Know

Where is HackUTD?
HackUTD is hosted at the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, TX — right in the heart of the DFW metroplex. Events are held at the ECS West building, one of UTD's newest and most beautiful facilities.
Who can participate?
Any university student — undergraduate or graduate — from any school, any major. You don't need to be a CS major. First-time hackers are especially welcome!
How much does it cost?
Absolutely nothing. HackUTD is 100% free. We provide meals, snacks, drinks, swag, and everything you need for 24 hours of hacking.
Do I need a team?
Nope! You can come solo and find teammates at our team formation event. Teams can be up to 4 people.
What should I bring?
Your laptop, charger, student ID, toiletries, a sleeping bag if you want to rest, and an open mind. We provide everything else.
What makes HackUTD special?
